Our legal advocates provide information, help with legal systems and paperwork, and offer emotional support in the courtroom as individuals navigate criminal and family court processes.

We can help with:

• Relief from Abuse Orders

• Criminal cases

• Custody

• Child support

• Divorce

• Other proceedings

Note: Our advocates cannot serve as expert witnesses.

Meet our Legal Program Coordinator!

Liane has worked with Steps for many years in a variety of roles ranging from working overnights at our shelter many years ago to working with folks in our Transitional Housing Program.  She has been the Legal Program Coordinator for over two years. In our Legal Program, she supports people in court and also helps them navigate the complicated legal system.  She admires all the people she works with who have an incredible amount of strength and resilience through very challenging circumstances.  She enjoys working at Steps with a wonderful team of advocates who are always working toward improving our programs and supporting people in our community.
